What they are and why they are used
Cookies and similar technologies, including browser local and session storage, store and retrieve information from a device. CADT uses them to remember preferences and, with the applicable legal basis, measure visits, journeys and enquiries. They may be first-party or third-party technologies.
Measurement preference
The browser stores your choice to accept or reject measurement in local storage for 180 days. You can change it using “Measurement preferences” in the footer.
First-party statistics
stats.chocala.net uses first-party visitor and session identifiers in local and session storage to connect visits, pages, interactions and enquiries. The session identifier lasts until the browser session ends; the local identifier remains until removed from the browser or the relevant choice is withdrawn. Events and enquiry copies have a planned retention of 395 days; IP addresses and user-agent data, 30 days.
Microsoft Clarity and Google Ads
Microsoft Clarity uses first-party cookies such as _clck and _clsk, and may use third-party cookies such as CLID, ANONCHK, MR, MUID and SM for statistics, heatmaps and session recordings. Google Ads may use cookies such as _gcl_* to attribute visits and conversions to campaigns. Third-party cookie lifetimes depend on their configuration and the browser; see the linked Microsoft and Google documentation below. We do not use this data to personalise ads from this website.
Acceptance, rejection and withdrawal
Non-essential technologies require prior, freely given and informed consent. You can accept or reject measurement in the notice and change your choice through “Measurement preferences”. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing. You can also clear cookies and local storage in your browser; some third-party cookies must be removed there.
